We have published a new white paper with the title "How speech recognition can help grow ecommerce sales".
Grocery ecommerce is still in its infancy despite its fast growth in the past years. The share of shoppers who choose online channels when buying groceries is miniscule compared to the share of online shoppers say, in travel industry. We argue that this is due to bad user experience especially in the first shopping cart creation. Using voice in grocery ecommerce could make the shopping experience faster and more convenient and increase the amount of sales.
SOK, one of the biggest grocery retailers of the Nordic is using Speechly to power its grocery shopping list app. In the process of building the app together with SOK, we've learned a lot on how voice is best used in grocery retail, what are the biggest issues with voice technology in grocery vertical and what are the real-world benefits of voice technology for grocery retailers.
In the white paper, we'll share some of our learnings and give insight on how ecommerce in grocery retail has developed and why voice could best be leveraged. The white paper includes graphs and data points on grocery ecommerce especially in the Europe and is available completely for free.
